From the S-Bahn station, wander directly down Leverkuserstraße towards the river, and take in the truly lovely pre-war Fachwerk (beam and mortar) houses, and the Baroque and Neo-Classical architecture. You will pass the Evangelische Stadtkirche (Protestant church) on your way towards Bolangaro Straße, which is the main drag through the city?s old town and the Schloßplatz (Castle Court) and runs parallel to the Main riverbank. Keep wandering through the old town and you will encounter the customs tower, the old courthouse, and the Grieffenclau House, all of which add to a picturesque setting that is unparalleled in Frankfurt.
