Tuesday nights provide an opportunity to see the city on skates. Hundreds, nay thousands of inline skaters meet up at Deutschherrnufer (E-3) at 20:30, after which they skate a 30-40km route through Sachsenhausen, across the bridge, through the city centre and back. A police escort keeps the streets car-free, while at the rear end of the column an ambulance scrapes the amateurs off the asphalt. For safety reasons you are not allowed to join the column after it has started. Beginners are not advised to join this shindig, but you can join them before and after at the Zwischendurch bar, Dreieichstr. 34.
